Paying monthly instead.

Two Orlando studios publish a monthly website plan. The price matters less than two lines in the terms: how long you are committed, and when the site becomes yours.

How Orlando compares.

What changes the price.

01

How many pages

Most Orlando packages are priced by page count. One studio adds $150 for each page past its package.

02

Template or custom

The same studio charges from $1,250 for a site based on a template and from $7,500 for one designed from scratch.

03

A shop or bookings

Selling online costs more everywhere. The one Orlando studio that publishes a shop price quotes $8,000 to $15,000 and up.

04

Words and photos

Ask whether writing, photography and video are included or extra. They change the price, and the result, more than anything else.

05

After launch

Hosting, security and edits cost money every month, whoever builds the site. Published care plans in Orlando run $39 to $500 a month.

Questions about price.

How much does a website cost in Orlando?

Among Orlando studios that publish prices, a small-business website usually costs $1,000 to $9,000 to build, with starting prices from $900 to $6,500 and online shops from $8,000 to $15,000 and up. Monthly website plans run $69 to $355 a month. Ours are $249 a month plus $1,000 setup, or from $4,500 to buy it outright.

Why don’t most web designers publish their prices?

Ten of the 21 Orlando studios we checked publish no price at all, and most of them quote each project after a call. We publish ours because most small-business sites fit one plan, and you shouldn’t need a call to find out what it costs.

Is a monthly website plan cheaper than buying a website?

Usually in the first year. Our monthly plan costs $3,988 in year one ($1,000 setup plus 12 payments of $249), against $4,500 to buy the same site outright. After 12 paid months the site is yours either way.

Who owns a website on a monthly plan?

It depends on the studio, so read the terms before you sign. Some Orlando plans keep the site until you have paid for 12 months, some charge a fee to hand over the files, and some take the site offline if you stop paying. With us, your domain and content are always yours, and the design and code become yours after 12 paid months, or sooner with a buyout of $249 for each month left.

What does website maintenance cost?

Orlando studios that publish care plans charge $39 to $500 a month: hosting alone from $39, maintenance plans from $59 to $199, and plans with several hours of edits from $149 to $500. Ours are $49 a month for hosting, security and backups, or $99 with an hour of edits.

How much do web designers charge per hour?

The three Orlando studios that publish an hourly rate charge $70, $100 and $150 an hour. Ours is $85 an hour for sites bought outright. The monthly plan includes an hour of edits every month.
